Part 1: All That You Leave Behind

"Coming." Lorelai said as she rushed to answer the door and found out it was Paris, who had a couple of outfits and some papers in her hands. "Hey Paris."

"Hey is Rory here?" Paris asked.

"Yeah. Rory you have company."

"Who is it?" Rory asked.

"It's Paris." Lorelai said. "She wants to talk about the trip with you."

"Tell her to come on in my room."

Paris immediately went to Rory's room and found her reading a tourist's guide of Washington D.C.

"Here's the curriculum." Paris said as she handed it to Rory.

"Paris the trip isn't until next week." Rory said.

"I know that. I don't want you to forget about it. The last Chilton trip i was on, half the people didn't come on time because they forgot their curriculum."

"Okay so we're still suppose to be at the airport at 11:00 am?"

"Actually it's between 10:30 and 11:30, but it depends on if the private plane has some previous assignment."

"Okay what about the hotel?" Rory asked.

"We're staying at the Marriot." Paris said. "They're letting us stay in one of their best suites."

"That sounds good."

"By the way which outfit do you think i should wear for the introduction lunch?" Paris asked, laying them on the bed for Rory to see.

"I think you should wear the suit." Rory replied. "The one with the skirt makes you look too much like some news anchor. Besides you would look great in it."

"I don't know."

"Come on Paris you will. In fact why don't you try it on."

"Okay." Paris said as she left to change in her suit.

The phone rang immediately after Paris left the room and Rory answered it.

"Hello." Rory said.

"Hey did you find where that record store is located?" Lane asked, inquiring about an indie record store she heard about.

"Yeah it's a few blocks from where i'm staying."

"Cool. You remember what i want there."

"I know. you want the bootleg of the Strokes at the 9:30 Club."

"That's right." Lane said.

"I'll be sure to get it." Rory said as Paris entered the room wearing the suit that Rory picked out. "Listen i'll see you later."

"How do i look?" Paris asked.

"You look great." Rory said, marveling at how great Paris looked. "There's one problem though."

"What is it?"

"You're suppose to leave the top two buttons unbuttoned." Rory said as she unbuttoned the top two buttons, which immediately made Paris blush. "Why are you blushing?"

"I'm sorry." Paris said. "I'm not used to someone besides my mom doing that."

Paris lied to hide her real reason why she was blushing. She felt very aroused when Rory got close to her. After changing back into her regular outfit, Paris looked at her watch and saw that she was late for her volunteer work at the youth center.

"Well i've got to go now." Paris said as she gathered her outfits. "Remember don't-"

"Forget to be at the airport on time." Rory said interrupting Paris. "I won't. By the way i've about finished with a couple of propose speeches."

"That's very good. I'll be to read them when we're on the plane. Anyway i'll see you in the morning."

"Yeah see ya."

Paris left the Gilmore house and made her way back to her car and drove off. As she drove to the youth center, Paris thought about her close encounter with Rory. She was very tempted to kiss Rory, but at the last moment decided not to do so she wouldn't ruin the moment. After a couple of minutes Paris' thoughts turned to the trip and what she had planned with Rory. She wanted to make the most of the trip with Rory and begin to think of things to do with Rory as she made her way to the youth center.

Rory arrived at the airport with Lorelai, Emily and Richard. One of the pilots help Rory with her luggage, while Emily and Lorelai argued on over how to use the camera.

"Now this button here gives better focus." Emily said as she mistakenly presses the button that takes the picture.

"No mom it's the small one on the right." Lorelai said.

Emily immediately gave the camera back to Lorelai in disgust.

"These new camera are too complex for me. Why can't we use our old camera? It still works pretty good."

"Because something always breaks everytime we use it and the parts are very hard to find."

"Excuse me are we going to take the pictures?" Richard asked.

"Coming dad." Lorelai said as she went to take some pictures of Emily, Richard and Rory.

After taking three pictures, Lorelai got one of the pilots to take a joint family pictures.

"Lorelai don't do that rabbit ear thing to me again." Emily said.

"Don't worry i won't." Lorelai said with a sheepish grin on her face.

As the pilot took the picture, Lorelai tried to do the rabbit ears,  but Emily quickly smacked her hand down to prevent.

As the Gilmores took their picture together, Paris, Rosa the Portuguese nanny and Mrs. Gellar arrived at the terminal.

"Mom i'm not going to take all that makeup with me." Paris said.

"Paris you just can't wear one kind throughout the trip." Mrs. Gellar said. "Besides you need to make a great impression while you're in Washington."

Paris reluctantly put the makeup in her suitcase and quickly went over to the Gilmores.

"Hello there Paris, Jillian." Richard said.

"Hi Richard, Emily, Lorelai, Rory." Jillian said.

"I'm sure you're very proud of Paris being class president."

"Oh ys. I always knew Paris would be a great class president, but i must say Rory did an excellent job of helping her with her image. I've been telling her for the longest to drop that icy persona."

"Okay mom." Paris said, interrupting her mom.

"Alright we're about to leave in a couple of minutes." The pilot said from the plane.

"So are you nervous about this trip?" Lorelai said.

"A little." Rory replied. "Are you going to be alright by yourself at the house?"

"Sure. I'll have Sookie and Jackson come over."

"Well i've got to go now."

"Alright honey." Lorelai said as she gave Rory a hug. "Have fun."

"I will." Rory said as she made her way on the plane.

"Rory if you meet one of the congressmen or senators, tell them take it easy on those taxes." Richard said.

"I will grandpa."

Rory got inside the plane as the engine were turned on. She immediately sat next to Paris, who had a rather unhappy look on her face.

"You look pretty upset." Rory said. "Let me guess your mom was on you again."

"Yes as usual." Paris said. "She always bugs the hell out of me even more whenever i go on a trip."

"Don't worry at least you'll be away from her for six weeks."

"Yeah."

The plane took off from the runway and begin it's journey to Washington D.C. Rory begin reading a copy of YM, while Paris was reading the Iliad again. Rory took a break from reading and looked out the window. She thought how much life had become complicated with her torn feelings for Dean and Jess, especially after her kiss with Jess at the wedding. She welcomed the chance to get out of Stars Hollow to clear her mind. Meanwhile Paris was glad to be going to Washington, mainly to spend more time with Rory. She had a feeling that the trip would be something to remember.
