Part 7

"I'm gonna miss you!" Lorelai wailed as she hugged her only daughter tightly.

"Yeah, Ma I know." Rory answered with a bored voice making the older Gilmore girl give her an unbelieving stare. Then a moment later she stuck out her tongue and said, "I'll miss you too!" with a silly voice.

Lorelai winced and then said looking thoroughly embarrassed, "I'm really that bad?"

Rory shook her head negatively, "Nope just teasing you Mom."

Releasing each other Lorelai said, "I think I spend too much time with Luke, being silly around him is so much fun."

"Aren't you afraid he'll end it if you go to far?" Rory asked with an amused smile.

Lorelai shook her head, "Nope, if I do he'll just say with a stern teacher voice; 'Lorelai now you're going to far.' And I'll back off," she explained mimicking the man in question with a deep voice.

Rory laughed at her mother, as the imitation was really bad.

"Speaking of loved ones, have you thought about her?" Lorelai asked as a short blonde girl appeared at the front door with a bag in her hand.

Rory glanced at the girl who smiled back at them obviously amused at the scene in front of her. "I'm not sure, she's nice... I'm not sure if I want to risk my friendship." Rory looked at her mother and added, "The usual stuff you know."

"With risk of sounding corny, don't be afraid, look what happened the last time you were."

Rory gave her mother a surprised look, "How did you know about Paris and me?"

Lorelai gave her daughter a knowing look, "Moms always knows," she then said with a mysterious look.

Rory simply glowered at her mom to be serious and Lorelai straightened, "It wasn't that hard to figure out after to night."

"Oh," was Rory's only reply.

"So what are you waiting for? Tell her what you feel." Lorelai said loudly enough for Jessie to overhear, piquing the blonde's interest wondering what the older Gilmore girl meant.

Rory gave her mother another hug and whispered, "I'll do it when we're at school."

"Good luck," Lorelai whispered back and then they released each other so Lorelai could say good-bye to the shorter blonde.

"What were you two talking about?" Jessie asked once they were alone in the car, some half hour away from Stars Hollow.

"Hum?" Rory asked, as she had been busy watching the somewhat slippery winter road.

"I wondered what you and Lorelai were talking about." Jessie reiterated once again, sounding increasingly patient, she knew Rory usually did this when she didn't want to talk about it.

Rory kept her eyes on the road, not because she was afraid of losing control but not wanting to risk anything before they were both safe in their dorm, "Could that wait till we are back at Yale please?" she pleaded.

Jessie gave her companion a long look and then shrugged, she could wait, and the trip wasn't overwhelmingly long after all. "Okay, but don't think you'll get away when we're there," she said with a determined voice.

"Wouldn't dream of it," Rory replied with a small smile, she had promised her mother to talk about it with Jessie after all.

"Good."

The door to the dorm opened up to reveal two girls or more correctly two young women trying to compete who would enter first, all under the sound giggles and laughs.

Finally the taller girl a brunette managed with her superior strength and heavier luggage 'tackle' the shorter blonde out of the way and enter the room.

"I won!" Rory exclaimed triumphantly and then added, "I'll use the shower first tonight!"

"Cheater!" Jessie called out after her as she entered moments after.

"Bah! You're just bummed that I'll use all the hot water!" Rory stuck out her tongue at the other girl.

"You wouldn't dare!" Jessie exclaimed indignantly, she absolutely hated cold showers.

"Only way for you to get any hot water is if you share mine," Rory continued to tease the other girl, before she realized what she had said.

Jessie looked at the other girl, stunned by the offer, however jokingly it had been offered, Rory had never done such a thing, neither had she, it had kind of been an forbidden area ever since they had met.

"A-are you serious?" Jessie asked feeling her gut wrench at the thought it had only been a joke.

Rory mirrored her seriousness and then nodded, "I guess it is."

"Do you mean just sharing it, or sharing...?" Jessie asked to confirm what she hoped the other girl meant.

Rory smiled at the blonde, "I mean sharing, as in really sharing."

Jessie couldn't believe her ears, then she asked with a grin, "Wanna take a shower?"

It was dark outside, only the reflected light the moon shined through the window lit the dark room; two persons spooned in a warm and comfortable bed. Through the darkness one could see that the bed had been used for some very active... well almost abuse, and if one had been in the room it would had held a peculiar smell, a smell only children or people with a cold would not understand.

"So you think we should move our beds together?" Jessie asked as she felt the other girl kiss her neck lightly.

Rory stopped exploring the other girl's skin and thought for a moment, "I'm not sure, it'd be going very fast you know."

"Fast? We're already living together!" Jessie said with a surprised voice.

"Just teasing," Rory answered with a tiny giggle, and then continued with what she had been occupied with before the blonde girl's question.

"Stop that." Jessie managed to say with a moan.

Rory stopped and gave the other girl a worried look, "You don't like it?" she inquired hesitantly.

"No, not that, continue with that, I just don't want you to joke with me about us." Jessie turned to look Rory in the eyes, "It's too new for me to have to worry about you joking all the time."

Rory kissed Jessie lightly on the lips, "Sorry, but that's how me and Mom are like, we love to tease those we love."

Jessie kissed the other back, "I realize that, but it makes me insecure of your true feelings for me."

"Then hereby I promise only to make obvious very obvious jokes," Rory said with a serious voice, though her eyes showed the amused emotion. "Also, I love you."

Jessie smiled at her new girlfriend, "I love you too."
